About me

My name is Dana.

I was born in New Jersey in August 1980, but my family moved around a lot before we settled in the sleepy little town of Waseca, Minnesota. I was 8 years old when we moved there. I only spent about 9.5 years in Waseca, but I that's longer than I've spent anywhere else. Even if the number of years spent in another place someday exceed those I spent in Minnesota, that place characterized by nice midwesterners, hard winters and beautiful nature-filled summers shaped my life so fundamentally that I will always call it home.

In 2004 I moved from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Milan, Italy. In 2008 I moved to Brussels, Belgium. In 2011 moded back to Italy.

I speak fluent Italian and I can get by in French if I need to.

I like to travel, cook and read. Each of these hobbies inspires the others.

Oh, and I have a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience.  I think that means I'm not stupid.

You can call me doctor if you want, but I probably won't respond.

I'm interested in how certain processes carried out in the brain change with development and experience. I've published some of the fancy brain science that I've done.

This is my brain.

Despite my studies, I now work in the urology department of a hospital. Life takes surprising turns sometimes, and I welcome each new twist. After all, learning is my number one passion in life.

This is Alberto.

He's my boyfriend. He'll pop up a lot on here.

He's Italian.
Want some proof? His middle name is Luigi, no joke.

His Mom is from Sardinia and his Dad is from Milan. He grew up in Milan but spent his summers and holidays in Sardinia.

We like to go there as often as possible.
Can you see why?

Daniscedda is my nickname is Sardinian dialect.
I like it.
